Comply to IOF Colour standards
IOF has changed the standards for colours in O-Map. Mixing of colours or "overprinting effect" are not allowed anymore, but there are "upper purple" and "lower purple". Moreover, present (June 2022) IOF standards are different for control numbers in ISOM and ISSprOM.
Purple pen should provide an option to choose the ISSprOM 2019-2 standard. Purple pen should provide a colour ordering table, where lower and upper purple can be brought in the correct position among the used colours.
Purple pen should provide an option to choose lower purple or upper purple for the various course symbols.6 votes -
scale
Is it possible to add a new object that is a scale bar?
If printing a map at 1:15000 then you should be able to dynamically create a scale bar to print on the map.
Previously I would have drawn it in either OCAD or PP but if I am working on courses at different scales I'd prefer to add this in PP.
It could be a set size object or grow in 100m increments as you scale it large/smaller.
Thanks for you hard work!

Add automatic upload to Livelox from Purple Pen.
Similar to how OCAD and Condes it would be great if we could automatically upload map & courses to Livelox.

Print multiple courses on the same sheet of paper
Hello!
It is always such a hard time to print multiple courses on the same sheet of paper for intervalls and such. It would be really nice to have a function that you can say: Oh I want four courses on this sheet and I what these four to be the ones that gets printed.
This is to make short intervall training a lot easier to set and so the scales and such all match up and gets right.
I would love such a feature!3 votes -

To be able to create georefenced events with others files than Ocad files
A lot of clubs don't want to give their Ocad files to everybody, they only give jpg, tif, png or pdf files.
It'ld be excellent to be able to create georeferenced events with those files (for example jpg+jgw, tif+tfw, ...)
Could you create this feature that shouldn't be too difficult to implement?31 votes -
Descriptions as word or excel
It would be great to be able to generate control descriptions as a Word document or Excel spreadsheet. This would allow setters to modify descriptions in unique circumstances. Is this possible or can it be made possible?

Hi,
Hi,
I would like to be able to copy and paste 'all control descriptions' into excel or word. I am running a major event and next to each description i would like to record details such as spike/saw horse/ cable tie as well as notes on positioning. Can this possible or can it be made possible?1 vote -
export race in KMZ format
With the development of smartphone applications, a KMZ export of races would allow the importation of races directly from these applications (Navitabi, Vikazimut, ...).

Add support to get elevation profile and summary climb for planned course.
It would be nice to have a feature to load some DEM source file (e.g GeoTIFF with elevation data) and for chosen course to plot elevation profile and show total climb info. For planning purposes in hilly areas that would be quite a timesaver.

Rotate map
Allow rotation of map.
Some maps are not drawn with meridians parallell to the edge of the map. I would like to be able to rotate the map to correct angle. As it is now it is not possible to make the control numbers and control descriptions parallel to meridians on these maps.

Change control number font type to Arial
Currently, the font type of control number on the map (Roboto?) is not in accordance with ISOM2017-2 standard (Arial). Could you please fix that, or make font type selection possible also for the order numbers?

Enable donating with a debit or credit card also from other regions than Grenada
There is a bug in PayPal powered donation service when selecting donation without PayPal account i.e. with debit or credit card. The system suggest Grenada as the donator's region. When changing the setting to correct country, the system restarts for some reason.

Export course print as SVG
Would be useful for uploading the course print and special symbols as seen on map to Livelox. Read more here: https://www.livelox.com/Documentation/Courses
(Livelox somewhat supports ppen-files, however, the result is messy)1 vote -
Improve handling of text boxes on map
It is hard to add multiple lines of text on the map. You currently have to add one textbox for each line of text which is:
1. Annoying to edit since you dont know how large or long the text will be
2. Hard to make the different lines aligned correctly. My suggestion is to:
1. Make it possible to edit a textbox directly on the map
2. Allow multiple lines of text by allowing line breaks in the edit box15 votes -

Georeference maps, image files with world file and EPSG code.
In Norway there is an mobile app, InvisibleO https://usynligo.no/about, that is becomming popular during the pandemic. This app makes it possible to run an orienteering course without controls in the forrest, since it use GPS position from your mobile to tell when you are at the control.
To make this work the map in Purple Pen must be georeferenced, and I'm aware that OCAD or OpenOrienteeringMapper files support this. But we don't want OCAD files distributed to everyone, because we want to avoid the risk of having several copies of the map where changes are done in each file.…

Make iof xml 3 format the default selection in the Create Data Interchange Format dialog
The IOF export dialog currently defaults to IOF xml 2.0.3. This causes issues for novice users when the want to create iof xml files for apps such as UsynligO (which requires 3.0 format). Please consider to default to the newer version of the iof xml format (3.0) instead. Thanks!
