create control descriptions in Danish
I am working with school orientering where it is often suitable to work with text descriptions in stead of IOF symbols. PP creates automatically the descriptions in English which is not applicable for Danish schoolboys and -girls. How do I do descriptions in Danish?

selecting control number with keypad
When creating a
circuit, it would be nice to be able to type the control numbers with
the numeric keypad instead of selecting the control circle on the map.
I hope the next version could do that.1 vote -
Provide a more obvious link to the launchpad site from the home/contribute page
Provide a link to https://launchpad.net/purple-pen from http://purplepen.golde.org/contribute.htm
It seems like there is no link anywhere from http://purplepen.golde.org the only way I found the launchpad site was through the translation instructions.

bug - when used without background map, course view keeps shifting off-screen
I can't use an existing Finish on a course file where I wasn't given the map. Everytime I click on anything on the course image the view first shifts everything off the screen

It seems that the PDFs output via File>Output PDFs is not georeferenced. It would be great for tracking to have GeoRef PDFs.
It seems that the PDFs output via File>Output PDFs are not georeferenced. It would be great for tracking to have GeoRef PDFs. Some mobile device apps can read them without having to calibrate manually.

When using a marked/taped route to the Finish, the words 'Navigate to Finish' appear in English versions of the control descriptions.
There appears to be a bug, because in English versions of the control descriptions the wording should be 'Follow tapes _m to the Finish'. Instead the words 'Navigate _m to the Finish' appear.

Rectangle with white padding
The rectangle is nice for making borders on maps. Would be great if it had a white padding option, so we don't need to use the white masking tool. Padding should extend to infinity outside the border.

make follow "Follow tapes to finish" the default
Competitors should virtually never be expected to navigate to the finish and it should be strongly discouraged. There is no option for the finish to have a description. I think that at the moment, many planners just leave the default (navigate to finish) without thinking about it.

Rotate map to align with leg while drawing course
The perceived shortest route for a leg often depend on how you look at the map.
I would like to be able to look at the map in the direction aligned with a certain leg of the course. To choose a challenging location for the control. Especially for sprints, I noticed that sometimes a different route choice seems obvious depending on whether you look with North on top or with me next control on top.27 votes -
Print multiple course pa in one page
For training, it's sometimes good to create several smaller courses to be printed in the same page.
I hope my description isn't to hard to understand.
But for example if doing orienteering intervals with a common start point for all intervals. Printing all intervals in one map can show up as quite messy. If dividing the map inte several smaller maps each one containing one interval makes it easier.
If printing on one A4 page and having 6 intervals, then each interval could for example be a round map with diameter 8 cm. Control definition needs to be provided for…10 votes -
Allow the "Set print area" to work on a number of courses at the same time.
At the moment the choice is all to make them all the same or to set the area individually. I have resorted to manually editing the .ppen file to make a number of them the same.

Show lengths of course variations in Course Summary report
A small suggestion to improve the Course Summary report: I have created a relay course with two forks and three member teams, giving nine variations. I need the variations to be approximately the same length with a spread of no more than two hundred metres between the shortest and longest. When I look at the Course Summary report it only shows me the length range for the entire course but doesn’t show me the length of each variation. If the range looks too large I have to go through each course one-by-one and note the course lengths from the control…

Trail O
The simplest addtions are direction indicators in column 8 of the CDs - Arrows for each compas direction - and control codes that allow for A-E, A-C, A etc, which already works, but only once per code. The next is to add small dots for the solutions sheet where the kites are placed including the zero (non existant kite).

Bug: change control code
Make a course. Click a control code in the definition. Double click. Write new number. Click enter. The number does not change.
To change number you are not allowed to have single clicked the number before you double click. You must have another row yellow, then double click another line to make the cahnge of control code cahnge.

watch for changes to background maps of maps
When the background map changes in PurplePen, a prompt appears asking if the map should be reloaded.
Often the map is made up of two OCAD files, one containing the map and the other containing the format (border, northlines, title, etc.).
The formatting OCAD file uses the raw-map OCAD file as a background map.
If the raw-map OCAD files is changed, PurplePen doesn't prompt for the map to be reloaded.
The background maps of OCAD maps should be watched for changes

Print all courses on one map
A feature that should be very useful when planning big events is to print all courses on one map. We need to show land owner an authorities which belts that will be used so they, for example, kan see if the load on the nature is ok. All courses on one map wold give a good overview.
