  1. Allow for school districts to use in adventure education curriculum for orienteering. My school won’t allow it because of open source and no guaranteed support. I have a Mac that I own at home but seems you need quite a bit of GB to run and complex. Anyone have any suggestions or ideas

  2. Hello everybody !

IIRC this is my very first post in this group.

I am an experienced OCAD-user but a novice in PurplePen.

In a recent training session we used a map in scale of 1:4000. The training was held well after sunset and we run with headlamps. Sprint maps are hard to read in adverse lighting conditions, specially when the size of control circles turned out to be not compliant with ISSprOM 2019.
    It was 5,35mm instead 6,00.

Did we miss something under initialisation ? Se link bellow to screeshoots

  3. At present, special instructions such as "map exchange at control" are only available in some languages, but not in others.
In contrast to control descriptions proper, they cannot be customized via the "customize text description" menu option.
As a consequence, in my text description, "map exchange at control" appears in English, while everything else is German.
Apparently, all it needs is a few extra lines in the symbols.xml (or via Ctrl Shift Help Menu), but one would have to meddle with Windows Admin rights to write into that file.

  5. Have a report on water controls. This would indicate:

    • For each course, the longest segment between water
    • For each water point, how many competitors use it, and a suggested amount of water to place

  6. This would be useful for beginners as the text would read exactly the same as the symbols. e.g. use "N knoll, E edge" rather than "E edge of N knoll"

  7. The image export function should relate the DPI value to the chosen scale of the course, not to the scale of the background map.

For example, if I have a map in the scale 1:15000, and two full page courses in the scales 1:10000 and 1:7500, the pixel width and height of the result images should be identical. Currently the 1:10000 course image will have more pixels in it.

  9. It would be nice if you could have a map exchange for a part of the course further away and then switch back to the original map where the course continues. There's currently a work around for this involving overlapping controls and forks but the numbering isn't correct, it's hard to do and it's very confusing to both plan and run with it.

  10. Users may find that they need to change one or more settings each time they use the program. Having a way to make these the new default settings would avoid this.

  12. Most commonly used from last control to finish, but also commonly used mid-course in relation to spectator passages, map exchange or crossing forbidden areas. Should also be allowed from start point to start triangle.

  13. Currently, the font type of control number on the map (Roboto?) is not in accordance with ISOM2017-2 standard (Arial). Could you please fix that, or make font type selection possible also for the order numbers?

  14. At the moment the choice is all to make them all the same or to set the area individually. I have resorted to manually editing the .ppen file to make a number of them the same.

  17. The rectangle is nice for making borders on maps. Would be great if it had a white padding option, so we don't need to use the white masking tool. Padding should extend to infinity outside the border.

  18. Similar to how OCAD and Condes it would be great if we could automatically upload map & courses to Livelox.

For example : One map, mutliple courses and multiple circuit.

  20. Hello!
It is always such a hard time to print multiple courses on the same sheet of paper for intervalls and such. It would be really nice to have a function that you can say: Oh I want four courses on this sheet and I what these four to be the ones that gets printed.
This is to make short intervall training a lot easier to set and so the scales and such all match up and gets right.
I would love such a feature!
