Reduce the file size when printing
When I try to print directly from PP the file size is so large that my network falls over. If I export it to OCAD the file size is much smaller and it prints OK.
The print file size should be significantly reduces in Purple Pen 2.0.

One thing you may wish to check when printing is the resolution of your printer. If you are printing at a very high resolution, the file size will grow accordingly, and such a high resolution may not actually be providing additional value.
If you have extremely large file sizes I would be interesting in knowing precise details about what printer and printer driver you are using, and whether it is a networked or local printer. Windows printer drivers can vary wildly. You may wish to try a more up to date driver.

A huge file size like this suggests the base map is a JPEG (or other raster image file). Use a vector image instead. Also, print to a PDF file not to a JPEG. PDF files can contain both vector and raster image content.
I start from an OCAD base map, and print from Purple Pen to a PDF file. The resulting file is about 1.5MB per full page map.

I can get file sizes of 200+ Mb from PP. There must be some way of producing a smaller file size without compromising quality.
