draw white area only on selected course
At the moment if I draw white area it appears on each course.
If it could appear only in the one selected that would be great!20 votesYou can do this in Purple Pen already. Draw a white area, click on it, then select Item/Change Displayed Courses, and select which courses it is displayed in.

allow printer properties to be changed so that I can print a map in draft quality.
Map printing is expensive - I don't always want to print high quality maps, but there isn't an option to access printer preferences.
1 voteYou can already do this.
From the Print Courses window, click “Change Printer…”, then click “Preferences”.

Update dangerous area/forbidden area according to ISOM2017
IN ISOM2017 dangerous and forbidden areas are the same with 0.8 mm between lines. In PP dangerous areas has 0.6 mm between lines.
3 votesOn the Event menu, set the IOF standard for map to “ISOM2017”. The dangerous area will appear according to the ISOM 2017 standard with 0.8 mm between lines.

Select object behind white-out area by double-clicking mouse
Its very hard currently to do a layout, since when I put white-out area, and there are objects on it (like logos), i cannot anymore select those logos. So I need to take a white-out area, move it aside, then take logo and change or move it, and then again bring white-out area back to where it was. Not good.
Should be like this: one-click on the white-out are will select area. But DOUBLE-CLICK (or tripple) should allow selecting and working with objects which are on the white-out area.

Allow uncropped maps for Routegadget export
Maybe just a checkbox to allow the user to select cropped or uncropped maps (ideally defaulting to unchecked).
I am always disappointed when I see cropped maps in Routegadget. I understand that this is trying to reduce file sizes, but the tests I have done show that it doesn't really make a great deal of difference for most events.
The RG2 wiki at https://github.com/Maprunner/rg2/wiki/Map-Files provides a lot more detail of the background to this.

Allow editing (text, color) custom text box after creating it
Currently, when creating custom text box and putting it somewhere on the map, you cannot afterwards just click on it and change it. Currently, if you need to do some changes in text, you basically, need to delete previous text box and create one again. Also it is quite often needed to change color of the text, which is created. So - when adding possibility to work with the text box, it is required to holistically look at this feature, so that it can be changed, edited, color changed etc. Also - it would be required to be able to…

Include georeferencing (where available) in exports for Routegadget
Having a single menu item to export the course data (XML) and map image (GIF) for Routegadget is very useful, thank you. But it seems that the exported map image is not georeferenced, even if the OCAD map is. Is it possible to create and export the GFW file too?

Allow relay team numbers to start at a number greater than 1
For a relay event with more than one class, say 'men' and 'women', allow the team numbers for men to start at 1 (say) and the women at 101. At present the work-around appears to be to define 200 women's teams and to print the maps for only teams 101 upwards, but this means that the XML and PDF exports of team variations contain a lot of unnecessary data.

Is there a plan to support the latest IOF control description changes? Links at http://orienteering.org/resources/mapping/. Most notably:

-- New 'trench' symbol
-- New 'out of bounds area' (flower bed) symbol
-- Distance to start triangle from timed start6 votesThis is now in Version 3.1.0

White-out area to be located behind other objects
It would be very nice if the White-Out-Area could be placed behind other objects such as text and images. Currently any such object are hidden behind the White-Out-Area. Actually, there should preferably be two different ways of masking information, one type of mask placed behind and another mask placed in front of other objects as the current one.

Manage classes
In OCAD, you can create a list of classes and then link a path to each class. It's good at big events.
For XML export, the file will also include the ClassCourseAssignment-tag: <ClassCourseAssignment>
<ClassName> D60 </ ClassName>
<CourseName> Course 3 </ CourseName>
</ ClassCourseAssignment>This is a very useful feature that would be good to include in the Purple Pen.
See attached links for pictures (sorry for Swedish in the pictures.)

We regularly have a taped last leg for juniors but a navigate for seniors. The category of last leg should be a feature of the leg, not the finish.

Use / for control that is multiple times in a course
Control that is multiple times in a course, gets two numbers but they are placed somewhere separated from each other, using / like so "4/9/18" is much easier to read.

The Event Audit should report pairs of controls which are run in both directions
It is generally not a good idea if one course features two controls in one direction and another course features the same pair in the reverse direction. It would be great if Event Audit could report such instances.

Solve bug: XML file produces comma's instead of dots with x and y coordinates
It seems you use the Locale for converting the numbers to strings to write to the XML-file. This causes that the XML-file cannot be read by Helga.
For our next event I edited the XML-file manually to solve this.

Predefined print area
It would be great if you could choose a print size (eg A4, A3 or a custom defined size) which then can be positioned on the part of the map you want to use.
