  1. When you push (or click) left mouse button it soud begin to track points where ever the mouse pointer goes, until you release (or click again) the left mouse button. Probably is more usefull if you add this behavior to every line drawing tool, and provide a activated/desactivated method as example by holding down/releasing a key (shift or control key).

  3. We are using the Emit system and Etiming software for result service. It is possible to import cource data from ocad. (version 8 text format in ocad)
The file from ocad is in this format:
    ;Lang;0;5.500;0;S1;0.793;131;0.879;132;0.585;133;0.646;134;0.641;135;0.749;136;0.587;137;0.626;M1

    ;[Cource name];[Cource number];[lenght];[declenation];[Start name];[lenght to 1 control];[code 1 control];[code first conrol];[lenght to 2 control];[code 2 control] .......[name finich]

With this function it will be possible set up the cources in the Etiming software by just importing this file, and also reduce the risk of writing errors.

  4. When we are arranging trainings we usually don't have punching units and control codes on every control. But PurplePen forces us to have that and that is a little annoying, specially for the youngsters. It would be a good idea to be able to ommit or hide the control codes in the control description.

  7. Could Ppen read the OCAD file and determine what object was located at the point the control was placed? If the object was a point feature, the description could be automatically generated.

  8. Create the control description at a standard size, based on the font size, but allow the block to be resized to fit the space on the map.

  9. When map files are updated and used for a prior version of a PP course, the controls are often shifted some amount. It would be very helpful to have a way to move all the controls (or the map file) to realign them. Several questions on the yahoo forum have mentioned this useful suggestion.

  10. I find myself re-calculating the climb for my courses, and having to double and triple check my work. It would be really nice to be able to calculate and set the climb for each leg separately. Purple Pen could even prompt the user to re-set the climb on affected legs if a control is moved after the climb has been set.

  13. This would be useful for beginners as the text would read exactly the same as the symbols. e.g. use "N knoll, E edge" rather than "E edge of N knoll"

  16. For courses other than sprint, length measurement is along the shortest passable route (measuring around lakes, buildings, etc.), and it is often not proper to bend the connecting line around such objects (because there is a left/right route choice around them). It would be nice to be able to click on the length and manually edit it. I guess it would make sense for it to revert if the course were edited, though.

  17. Have a report on water controls. This would indicate:

    • For each course, the longest segment between water
    • For each water point, how many competitors use it, and a suggested amount of water to place
